Seaworld

I recently read an article about SeaWorld’s last “One Ocean” show. It was a emotional day for many families who enjoyed the show and for animal rights activists everywhere.

Although the article touched upon the powerful documentaries about killer whales and the cruel treatment of captivity, it mainly focused on the audience’s reaction and how they were “sad to see it go.” I feel like the priority of the article should have been praising the decision to stop the show and celebrating the freedom of these entertainment whales. However, it seemed to barely react to that aspect of the change. The only quote it included was from a family who “saw the show every year.” This seems like a bias perspective to include in their article and it distracts from the original purpose of stopping the show. I feel like this is a less intense version of censoring and would not fully trust this news source in the future.
